yesterday mady officially started potty training. she woke up and sat on the potty before we put on her big girl panties for the first time. then we set the timer for 45 mins so she could sit on it again then. she never went after the first 45 mins so we reset it for another 45 mins. and that's practically what we did all day. every 45 mins she would sit on the potty for as long as she would before getting grumpy. the time ranges depending on her mood. sometimes she will be content there for up to 30 mins if we keep her occupied or she is watching boots or pablo. other times she wants off in 3-5 mins. she only peed on the potty once and had 3 accidents. we are so grateful that we had a pull up on her when she popped cause it was a messy, squishy one. she had a pull up on cause we had just got home from going to town. she will wear pull ups when we leave the house and when she goes to bed. we put a pair of vinyl undies over her princess or dora panties so that way she can still feel the wetness but we don't necessarily have a big of a mess when she does have an accident. there are a few tricks that i learned that i wanna try like running warm water down her belly or placing a warm washcloth just below her belly button when she is on the potty or giving her something to drink as she is sitting on the potty. also, letting her feel the difference between wet and dry things. they may seem silly but if they help, i'll give it a whirl. when she is at grandma's cause mama is working and dada is on a trip, carol will do the same thing. every 45 mins she will put her on the potty and keep her in panties when they are home or pull ups when she is out and about. considering it was her first day it went as well as expected. we'll keep you posted on her progress.

sounds like an adventure....let me know if those tricks work; i'll have to give 'em a try when kady is older. good luck! and super cute big girl pictures in her big girl panties!!!
