back to work.....

well at least that's what i like to call it. it's really back to school for me tomorrow. i did have a good break though. we got alot accomplished. the baby's room practically got done, i got groceries, i caught up on cleaning and laundry, i did a little shopping. all and all, it was a relaxing 9 days off. jen told me about a job at the hospital as a ward clerk and since i did two semesters of clinical at that hospital i know the guy who does the hiring. he said if i want the job i got it but i still have to apply and get certified as an aide which should be easy since i am a semester 3 nursing student. i would work alternating tues, thurs, sat and sun 3-11pm. only 8 days a month. it pays ok but i really want it more for the experience. i'll take vitals and mostly do alot of paperwork which will get me a step ahead for when i am an actual nurse. i'll find out more tomorrow from the head of nursing at school about how to get certified. since we had the last week off, i couldn't get any info on the certification and that's why i have been waiting to hand in the application form. on thurs we have our next ultrasound to check out the baby and make sure everything is ok. i had my appointment with the surgeon on fri and the ultrasound they did found nothing that would cause me the problems that i have been having so we really don't know why it's so tender. i have to go back to see him in april and then again a month after the baby is born. not that anything would have changed by then but there's nothing that can be done right now. it's a relief that nothing is there but annoying that if nothing is there, then why i am so sore. speaking of the baby, my mum bought us a bassinet that it absolutely so adorable. we liked it so much cause after the baby starts sleeping in its crib, we won't need the bassinet anymore but this one turns into a toy chest. how neat is that. i like these dual purpose baby things. they are so convienent. well that's all from me for right now. i think i'll go eat some food!! tata.

baby's room

we finished the baby's room. all we need to add is a few flowers, an airplane in the sky and possibly some birds. we want to find some glow in the dark stars and put them on the ceiling and paint a moon in glow in the dark paint so it looks like night when its dark. we painted the light fixture yellow for the sun when its light out. but it's all small enough stuff that we may do it in a couple of weeks. i don't know if you can tell but see how we made a shelf in the corner of the room, where the frog is sitting, but it looks like a branch of the tree. also, look to the left in the middle. see a teddy bear in the clouds?? we also have a bunny rabbit , a heart and a turtle. we are going to look for carpet for the room on fri so i hope i will have the room set up by the end of the weekend. well, just wanted to show you the room. all else is well here.

i can't tell how much, if any, my belly has gotten bigger. so i thought i would let you be the judge.


you'd think i'd have to be up early tomorrow for school but you would be wrong. i get all next week off so we will start to paint the baby's room tomorrow. we hope to get it done by wed cause that's all the days tony has off during my vacation. when it's finished, i will take a picture of it and show it to you. for anyone who doesn't know or doesn't remember, right now the room is pink with a bumble bee border. big difference what we are going to be painting it to be. i had my appointment with a surgeon here in new york instead of going back to toronto about my problem. he sent me for an ultrasound on fri and i have another appointment with him on the 24th, so when i hear anything, i will let you know. i also have my next ultrasound to check out the baby on march 2nd so again when we know, you will know!

GOOD NEWS.....

WE FOUND RJ!!! the mail lady called the postman at about 1:30 to say she saw a black dog wandering around like it was lost. since i was on my way home from school and the postman wouldn't get a hold of me, he called charlie so carol and chuck went out looking for him. 15 mins after he was spotted, i went to the post office to get my mail and to hang up a poster of rj and the postman said that he was seen and that carol and chuck were looking for him. tony was only 5 mins away from being home as well so i waited for him and we also went to look for rj where he was seen. as soon as tony called his name a few times and followed his tracks, rj came walking back to him. he was cold and matted with snow all up the legs and in his beard. but we have fed and bathed him and he is back to his normal self, playing with teddy and tony, wrestling and eating like a champ. so i just wanted you all to know that he is home safe and sound and thanx for all your prayers.

p.s. i got a 72 on my nursing test today. it's not passing but i didn't fail by much. i'm happy with the grade. after all, it is the first test and it was a new teacher and i wasn't sure what to expect.

nothing new.....

if you are wondering why i haven't blogged in over a week keep reading and you will find out. the only couple of things that happened since last thurs that may interest you are: i got my permanent resident card in the mail recently. what a horrible pix of me it has on the front. what's cool about it though it has my fingerprint on there as well. they opened a walmart supercenter about 35 mins away and tony and i shopped there for the first time on wednesday night. it's big. for anyone who knows about my factuation with walmart, i could spend hours in there but it was midnight and i had school the next day so we left. we bought cute baby stuff though. even though it's probably not, it seemed to be a little cheaper in there than a normal walmart. i can't wait til i go back and i can spend more time searching the aisles and spend more money! i have my first nursing exam mon, so don't nobody try to reach me this weekend cause i'll be studying. i hate the first test, you never know what to expect or how the teachers will ask their questions. i am trying not to stress about it. also, on mon, we have another baby appointment. just the routine 4 week check-up. after this next week of school coming, i have an 8 day break. on mon and wed, tony and i and whoever else comes over to help will be painting the baby's room and setting up the crib and organizing other little things around in there. i know you are thinking it's so soon to be preparing for the baby but with school and tony's work and wanting to carpet the floor we wanted to get it done a little early. since we are doing that on mon and wed, i bet you're curious what we are doing tues. well, thats the day that we are going to toronto to see the plastic surgeon who did my surgery 18 months ago so he can hopefully tell me what the problems are that i have been having. i really want to get them fixed before the baby comes. it's just another excuse for me to go to canada so i can get more slushies!! :) now you see why i haven't posted. nothing exciting, huh?!?!

Newest Ultrasound

Well everyone, here's our baby. We had the ultrasound done today. The first is a traditional ultasound. The baby is laying on it's side with it's arm up near it's face. The second one is a new technology called 4D. Basically a rendering based off the ultrasound generated by computer modeling. You can distinctly see the face. Since Michelle is now a LEGAL Alien, is it just a coincidence that our baby in the 4D somewhat looks like an alien??????????????

Our interview was a great sucess. It lasted all of 15 to 20 minutes. Everything was approved and we drove 4.5 hours straight to Canada where my lovely wife proceeded to buy 4 boxes of Smaties, 2 bags of Ketchup chips and drank 2 EXTRA large slushes. Now I can send her to work to pay off her Canadian junk food spending spree.
